Obviously I can't even INSTALL the game without japanese locale. With japanese locale, it installs fine.
Before applying the english patch, I attempt to run it. It starts fine, showing me the main menu.
I click New Game, and the game starts. Some scenes shows along with some text, and then the screen goes dark and the game crashes with a crashdialog.

So I apply the english patch, hoping it would MAYBE stabilize the game.
That causes the game to crash whenever I click something on the main menu - as in, after clicking, the transition to the next menu completes, and then there's a crash dialog.
