If you were doing a video work then I'd say the ultimate would be getting SSD, strong CPU and lots of RAM. In fact if you were going to do it professionally I'd say a Mac Pro. Remember this post? When I recorded that tutorial I was still using a PC (RIP little Valentine). When I switched over to a Mac I had to reset and resave my Photomatix batch settings. I ran into a little hitch which I attribute to Macs being Macs and, since I’ve received several inquiries, I’m reposting for Mac.

Back? Okay, the only difference between Mac and PC is that Mac hides the presets from you. Or maybe I’m just not MacMinded enough yet to know how Macs save things. And something else that’s weird on a Mac… Sometimes when you open the batch dialog your previous settings will be there, sometimes not. Clearview 2 3 2 x 2. If you have to navigate to the settings you have to know where they live and, again since I’m not very MacMinded, that was problematic for me. So, here’s the secret.

User Library Application Support Photomatix Presets (whatever you named your file).xmp
