I went with the three pickup model because I hadda have some whammy action!!!So, you have 3 pickups-- even more knobs I think the master volume pot is a very handy feature! Btw, do the knobs get in your way when strumming? I was afraid of that when I bought it. but so far it hasn't bugged me at all.
Is the selector switch still 3-way? Do you use the middle pickup a lot?
Another question: How's the balance on your guitar? I mean the weight of the headstock.. I feel the headstock pulling down a little on mine sometimes. the body of the guitar is very, very light, in spite of the Bigsby. I think I'll buy a strap with non-slipping inside surface. that should already be enough to help balance it.
It's a limited edition of 48 (!) guitars -- I even got to choose the serial number.
They are slightly headstock heavy, IMO, but the right strap will fix that for ya. Does yours have 'buckers or the 'period correct' single coils they're now offering as an upgrade.
I swapped out the neck & bridge p-ups with some SD Pearly Gates I had lying around, and will probably spring for a Valco single for the middle position.
The very latest version of the Airline now features the 'stripe' that originally covered the seam where the two halves of fibreglass were joined, so Mike's constantly tweaking/improving the line.
